Griffin paced easily in the desert sand, his black hooves cracking the ground where it had dried stiff. The Tuscany Oasis was beautiful, the baking sun and hot sands made it perfect for him. Sometimes it seemed like this was the only place he could ever get warm enough. The Malums stallion shook out his white, black tipped mane as he slid under the shade of the tree that grew by the water. However much he loved his brother, being without the incessant chattering could be nice at times, Griffin's teeth clacked together quietly as he twisted in tight circle. The stallion finally paused in his restless pacing, staring at the water with his naturally intense amber and red eyes. After five years the stallion still couldn't get quite used to his own reflection, the white fade and dual colored eyes. He wasn't the strangest he'd seen, but he certainly wasn't the norm.
Griffin shook his head sharply as he turned away from the water. The Malums long strides carried him back to the tree, pressing his white shoulder against the soft bark. Restless was one of his key traits, Griffin could never settle, always moving because he'd go crazy if he didn't. The stallion gave a terse sigh between his teeth as he observed the land, the small shadows from the plants that grew there, the dancing reflections on the water, the blazing sun that made the ground hot and dry outside the oasis and even inside where the water didn't reach it. It was a perfect home for him and Obsidian, where they didn't have to worry about starvation or many visitors, where the heat was just right. But the fact was, Obsidian didn't settle any better than he did. They'd be moving on by nighttime tomorrow at the most.
Griffin let his head snap to the side, his red eye glowing as he called on his power. Fire was one thing he loved, the see the hot flames dancing as they reached as high as they could go, desperate to escape and yet easy for him to control. The stallion shook out his mane as he trotted over to the place where he'd summoned the small fire, away from the vegetation and on the hot sand where a dry and dead bush kept it going. Griffin's harks twitched at a constant tempo, catching everything from the cry of a falcon over-head to the scuttling of a lizard under the rocks by the water. It was as a sound that didn't fit into the sound of small animals going about their life that Griffin wheeled around on his haunches, the fire being extinguished as surely and abruptly as if it had been dosed by water.

She herself had not come into this land before. In fact, she hadn't been much of anywhere, but by the looks of himself, he wasn't the same as her. Not coloring, for sure but not in the same species. She wasn't sure how she knew that other then just a gut feeling. She debated leaving and acting like she didn't see him, but her thirst was to powerful to overcome. However she would watch just for a few more minutes before she headed towards the water. She couldn't imagine why he began to walk into the desert heat, without shade is was blissfully hot. Watch the flames evolve, it then confirmed what she already felt. He was not a Pacis. Taking in a hot breath, she calmed her soul. She wasn't scared, simply just curious and well, thirsty. Stepping down the small hill, she'd made it to the water when he had spun around. Her blood bay body shimmered as sweat prickled her skin.
Ignoring his presenance, she dipped her head swift to the water. Her mane falling to her ears and tickling her jaw line. Her tail, long and usually flowing in the wind, laid against her rump, and dragged on the desert sand. If that's what they call the cracked earth, sand. She'd personally call it hell. But she had wandered in to the place, she couldn't or didn't have the right to complain. Raising her hazel eyes upward she, for a minute watched him. He was white with black legs that blended with his white flank. His eyes were red and what seemed to be amber. Matched his power, she mused. Ignoring her thoughts, she sipped just a bit more water before raising her head.
She never talked first, and this wouldn't be the time she started. Staring at him, she let her hazel eyes roam over the hillside behind him, waiting for whatever he may say. Her legs a rich brown. Her eyes flickered in the sunlight. Returning his gaze to him, she flicked her ears backward, and waited.
