Year round, there is a blanket of pristine snow. The air is biting cold and and everything is frozen. Valle Morte is a thick covered forest with Pondarosa Pines and Aspens and large rocky structure providing a safe place to sleep and stay warm. Deer, elk, bear, wolves, and cougars all live here. There is plentiful vegetation beneath the snow, but it is quite a bit of work to get through the massive layer of snow. There is one place without snow which is deep in a canyon where a small pond is and little to snow, and the much warmer then everywhere else. Here is a lovely waterfall, and behind it is a perfect cave where the watcher of territory resigns. The waterfall surprisingly never freezes and is hot in temperature. A natural hot springs run off the top and lead off the waterfall into the stream. As the stream grows longer the heat runs thin and the cold biting air takes hold and about two miles down the stream it is almost frozen. The large pool of water from waterfall is a great place to take a dip for the water is over one hundred degrees Fahrenheit.
